Our client is an internet service provider. The Network Automation division focuses its efforts on improving efficiencies throughout the organization by enabling automation capabilities.
OBJECTIVES
To enable field network engineers with a universal provisioning platform that will automatically enable devices to be provisioned to comply
Reduce the field network engineer’s time spent on manually provisioning a device or service
To streamline the provisioning process across various regional domains
APPROACH
ImagineX, in partnership with CCI pulled together a team consisting of a product manager, product owner, architects and engineers, to draft a roadmap for the development of a new tool which would replace the existing applications used to provision services and hardware.
Our team provided technical leadership and DevOps support to create CI/CD pipelines, enabling the build of the new provisioning tool. We developed standard service and hardware Jinja templates, configured APIs for each service and hardware type, and integrated with existing inventory management systems such as Granite, releasing new features on a quarterly basis.
RESULTS
Our team developed a new application, UPP, that standardizes service, device, and hardware provisioning across all regional domains. Our work resulted in greater efficiencies when provisioning new devices or services across the COX ecosystem.
